Creationist's Museum of Lies and Falsehoods

As reported in the LA Times a "museum" that touts creation as told in the bible is opening in Kentucky. Their biblical view of the history of the planet puts humans and 'raptors in the same timeframe. The earth is only 6000 years old after all! Uh, yup, because the bible told me so.

What a load of crap.

This sort of crass disregard for science and logic is but another reason why religion is dangerous.

The scariest thing is, people believe it. Not just country bumpkins. Politicians and people who vote for them.

From the LA times:

The Campaign to Defend the Constitution, a Washington-based group that advocates science education and the separation of church and state, recently compared the museum to cigarette ads.

"This is to science what Joe Camel was to health — a crass marketing ploy that cynically preys on the impressionable minds of children," co-director Clark Stevens said in a statement.

Edwin F. Kagin, national legal director for the group American Atheists, is organizing a protest outside the museum on opening day.

"In the recent presidential debate you had three Republican candidates raise their hand and say they didn't believe in evolution," he said, referring to Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo.
