Two steps forward, three steps back?
Even though the hot dogs are good eating, M started having seizures Sunday night. Mild as they may have been they are still pretty scary. No thrashing around or anything like that but off balance and clearly uncomfortable. Sooooo, Ginger took her back to the vet today. Here's her wrap up:
Last night, Miki had a couple of seizures. I called the vet at home and we thought we would have to take her to the ER, but, fortunately we didn't. I took her in this morning, and she had 3 seizures while I was waiting to get in. He wants to keep an eye on her so she's still there. He's going to give her IV phenobarbitol to control the seizures. We decided not to do the ultra sound. I'm adamant about not wanting anymore surgery for her and whatever he would find on the ultrasound, be it a big ugly tumor or what, would try to be resolved with what he's doing now. So, we're just going to see how she deals with the phenobarb. I asked if she was going to be loopy like she is when she's on pain meds, he said that yes, she would be in the beginning, but then her body will adjust and she'll be fine. We'll see. My only concern is that she be happy, pain free and comfortable. If she's not, then I think we'll have that other decision to make.
